Dear Friends,

Legislation has been filed that could bring dog racing to an end at Tucson Greyhound Park!

House Bill 2536, sponsored by Republican Representative Vic Williams, changes the state's racing law to remove the requirement that Tucson Park offer live racing. That's right, TGP could remain open for other forms of gambling but would no longer need to offer live racing to keep its license.

The Greyhound Protection Act has been assigned to two committees, the House Committee on Rules and the House Committee on Commerce. Please click on the links below and write to each committee member and urge him or her to "release House Bill 2536 to the floor with a favorable recommendation."

An e-mail or phone call followed by a personal snail mail letter will go a long way. Please make this extra effort for the greyhounds today! Please refer to our bill fact sheet for talking points on this important legislation.

Remember, if you are a constituent of any committee member, make sure to point this out!

Finally, even if your lawmakers do not sit on the two originating committees, please take the time to contact them now and ask for a Yes Vote on the floor. It's never too soon to speak up for the greyhounds.

If you do not know the identity of your state representative and state senator, you can look them up here.

Off we go!
