GREY2K USA: International Call to Action

Dear Friends:

Even as we focus on ending dog racing in the United States, greyhound profiteers are attempting to expand their businesses to other parts of the world. Recently abandoned dogs in Guam also need your help today.

JAMAICA & SOUTH AFRICA

Jamaica and South Africa are each considering legalizing greyhound racing. GREY2K USA has submitted official testimony, but your letters are needed at this time as well.

Please write to the authorities and media outlets below and let them know that greyhound racing is cruel and inhumane, and that economically, it has become a losing proposition in this country. You can rely on points from our state-by-state racing pages or you can click here to review or download our racing fact sheet.

  GUAM

In late 2008, the only greyhound track in the United States territory of Guam was abruptly closed, and the owner abandoned or simply released the dogs to fend for themselves. Shirley Miller of Guam Animals in Need (GAIN) sprang into action and took possession of nearly 200 greyhounds, many starving and sick, and in need of lifesaving help. As each is given vet care and made ready for adoption, many are now being shipped to their Forever Homes through California’s Homestretch Greyhound Rescue & Adoption.

Please help their efforts by making a gift today:
