There are only seven countries left in the world that still allow commercial greyhound racing, and one of these countries is New Zealand. Despite its positive international image, New Zealand’s animal welfare legislation around dog racing is lagging. That's why the greyhounds need your signature on a petition to Parliament today!
GREY2K USA Worldwide is now partnered with SAFE For Animals and the Greyhound Protection League of New Zealand to close down the country’s seven dog tracks. In the 2019/2020 year alone, thirty-four dogs were killed due to injuries at the track, and a further 165 were killed for “undisclosed reasons.” There were also another forty-seven dogs who “died suddenly” which the New Zealand Racing Board left out of reporting altogether.

In addition, an investigation of the industry in 2017 resulted in twenty official recommendations for improvement, however these are yet to be implemented.
