GREY2K USA: Urgent Request — Contact NH Lawmakers Today!

Dear Friends:

Our bill to end dog racing in New Hampshire needs your immediate help today. HB 630 will end dog racing in the state of New Hampshire by January 1, 2011. (Click here to read today’s news story.)

A series of votes on greyhound issues was taken by the House Committee on Local and Regulated Revenues in Concord yesterday. After some discussion, a motion was made to pass our bill, sending it to the House Floor, with a positive recommendation.

When the vote was called, it appeared that the greyhounds would have the majority. But one of our supporters mistakenly voted the wrong way and HB 630 lost 9-10.

But here’s the good news — there was a further vote by the Committee to recess and take up HB 630 again on Thursday morning. The greyhounds will be getting the second chance they deserve.

This is an urgent request. Without delay, please contact each of the members below with your thanks. Put the words “Thank you” in the title of your message.

Remember to be polite and thank them for supporting an “Ought to Pass” vote in favor of the New Hampshire Greyhound Protection Act, HB 630.

Also be sure to add that you are counting on their votes this Thursday.

You should also thank Representative Robert Theberge, who intended to vote in favor of our bill, but could not make it to session. Please urge him to come to Concord for the greyhounds on Thursday. His e-mail is rolath@msn.com.

Go team!!!

For the greyhounds,

Christine Dorchak, Esq.
