Dear Friend,

Welcome to the latest installment of our Lawmaker Spotlight series celebrating key world leaders making a difference for the greyhounds! Today, please meet Andrew Wilkie of Australia. A retired infantry officer and intelligence analyst, Mr. Wilkie became a Member of Parliament in 2010. He brings his keen strategy and a strong commitment to the fight to end dog racing.

An avowed dog lover, Mr. Wilkie supports a ban on greyhound racing.

Greyhounds are sentient beings that should be treated with kindness. To see them being treated as a commodity and discarded like the weekly rubbish is an appalling blight on both the State Government and the industry. It should be banned.

Greyhounds are sentient beings that should be treated with kindness. To see them being treated as a commodity and discarded like the weekly rubbish is an appalling blight on both the State Government and the industry. It should be banned.

Mr. Wilkie has repeatedly called out the injuries and deaths of greyhounds, the killing of unwanted puppies, industry standard practices such as live lure baiting and the drugging of racers, as well as the taxpayer subsidies used to prop up such a disgraceful and discredited industry.

Please join us in thanking Mr. Wilkie for his heartfelt determination to save greyhounds. Be sure to let him know your state and country and if you have a greyhound of your own. Then please follow him on FB, Twitter and Instagram.

Together, we can end the cruelty of dog racing.
