Where does dog racing still occur in the USA? |
West Virginia is the last American state with two operating dog tracks. Since 2008, more than 11,000 greyhounds have been injured and 500 dogs died at the Wheeling Island and Tri-State racetracks. |

Oregon is playing a critical role in perpetuating West Virginia dog racing. That’s because it allows internet gambling companies to use its online platform, known as the Oregon Hub, to process more than $100 million in out of state greyhound bets a year! |
If passed, House Bill 3514 will phase out the processing of greyhound bets completely over several years, outlaw greyhound betting by Oregonians right away, and also discontinue the processing of wagers from Mexican dog track Agua Caliente. Caliente is one of the worst greyhound tracks in the world, and has no animal welfare standards.
