Friends of GREY2K USA Worldwide

Dear Friends,

Today we are excited to launch our Friends of GREY2K USA Worldwide page and to let you know about our efforts to help place greyhounds into loving homes!

Recently, we asked you to share your greyhound’s story. Whether adopted from an anti-racing group, pro-racing group or something in the middle, every one of these dogs is grateful for the helping hand to freedom that she or he received. In our view, greyhound adoption should not be politicized, something which is the subject of our Saving Greys blog today.

As we work to shut down dog tracks, the protection of greyhounds remains our number one mission. We are committed to phasing out greyhound racing in a responsible way so that greyhounds who might otherwise suffer and die while racing find a second chance at life.

We must all do everything we can to encourage kennel operators to release their greyhounds into adoption both now and once tracks are closed. By contrast, if we do nothing and allow dog racing to continue, thousands of dogs will be bred this year and next year and the year after that, to be replaced by thousands more. Some would be adopted but too many would be destroyed. That is the nature of this cruel industry.

As you know, April is Greyhound Adoption Month. Please mark the occasion by making a lucky dog part of your family. Together, we can make dreams come true for greyhounds far and wide.

For the dogs,
