Dear Friends,

Would you give up your coffee for a day or even a week so that greyhounds can go from cages to couches? 

You can help by chipping in the money you would have spent to buy coffee and a donut today. Just give that $5 or $10 dollars to the greyhounds and you can avoid extra calories at the same time! At many racetacks, greyhounds are kept confined in warehouse-style kennels inside small stacked cages which are barely large enough for them to stand up or turn around. There are no toys for them, no play – their “beds” consist of shredded newspaper or old carpet scraps.​

When they are let out of these cages to race, they face the risk of serious injury. Since 2001, more than 15,000 broken legs, broken backs, crushed skulls and more have been reported. PorPorPitifullMe was a one-year-old greyhound at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida. On the afternoon of November 18, 2014, she attempted to jump the rail and was electrocuted in front of a small group of bettors! The poor girl had raced only eight times before she died a painful death.​

Since our formation in 2001, over two dozen tracks have closed in 13 states. And we are not done yet. This month, the infamous dog track in Miami will hold its last race. Even better, the remaining eleven Florida tracks may close as well when voters go to the polls in November and choose to outlaw dog racing altogether!​

We won’t give up on these dogs and I know you won’t either. Please make a generous contribution to help end dog racing today. ​
