PLEASE FORWARD AND CROSSPOST TO ALL LISTS

The Fight in New Hampshire Continues!

Friends:

Today, the New Hampshire Senate defeated an amendment by Senator Sheila Roberge to require racetracks to pay for the cost of regulating greyhound racing. Right now, the state is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars each year on dog racing.

Even though Senator Roberge fought hard for this amendment and spoke passionately on the floor in favor of the greyhounds, her amendment was defeated 15-9. Several Senators had pledged to support her, but then switched at the last minute.

Below is a link to a list that shows which State Senators supported the greyhounds. If your State Senator voted YES, please contact him/her and offer your thanks for this humane vote. If your State Senator voted NO, please contact him/her and express your disappointment.

Thankfully, this fight is not yet over. Because the House of Representatives did vote to include this humane proposal as part of its budget, a conference committee will debate the issue in the coming weeks.

We will let you know when the conference committee is named, and ask for your further help then.

Together, we will end the cruelty of dog racing!

For the dogs,
