See our new greyhound adoption ads on Florida trolleys

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce our first series of advertisements promoting greyhound adoption in Florida!

Big thanks are due to Shelli Halper of Naples Transportation & Tours for helping us launch this campaign in such a big way! She has sponsored ads on all of her company's trolleys for an entire year. This means that thousands of people each day with see our message of greyhound protection and adoption.

There will even be a special ribbon cutting ceremony and media event on June 22 at 5:30 pm at the Experience Naples Center. GREY2K USA t-shirts will be available and a professional photographer will also be on hand to take photos of you and your Best Friend. Say hi to GREY2K USA volunteer Chuck Danielian and meet greyhounds available for adoption from Pat and Joanne Farrell of Homeward Bound. Please join us! For more information, e-mail info@grey2kusaedu.org.

Jeanne HuntAnother round of applause goes to Jeanne Hunt of High Falls, NY. Jeanne hosted an information table about greyhound racing at her official town day in May. On her own, she downloaded information from our web site, set up a table and raised $60 in contributions. She wrote, "Let's not give up until all the tracks are closed and the dogs are safe."

We would also like to thank ten-year-old Carolyn Kowal-Safron of Hadley, Mass who raised money by collecting bottles and cans last month. As part of a Girl Scout community service project, she also set up a display table and gave out adoption and advocacy materials to fifty people in her community.

A self-proclaimed "huge dog lover," Carolyn told us how much fun she had helping the greyhounds. In 2008, her hometown voted to end dog racing by a margin of 72%, so we know she had a greyt audience!

You can help, too. Taking Action is just a click away.

If you don't use social media yet, how about sending an "old fashioned" e-mail to friends and family? Here's a sample write up.

Now if you are ready to get really active, order one of our personal action kits or host an outreach table at a public event this summer. Yard sales, parades, road races, picnics and libraries are some of the great sites for a display. We will send you free brochures, buttons and signs and whatever else you need for a successful event.

Finally, an easy thing to do right now is to share this e-mail. Just use the forward button at the end of this message and add your own personal remarks.
