![]() Dear Friends, Today, we have great news to share! New South Wales has just joined sister state Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory in repealing the age-old laws requiring that adopted greyhounds be muzzled in public. This change will truly foster compassion and promote the adoption of gentle hounds Down Under! Congratulations to the Greyhound Equality Society and the RSPCA ACT for championing these successes. Now, to celebrate greyhound freedom, we would like to invite you to participate in our free summer video contest.
It’s easy to enter. Just make a short video of your hound and upload it to our official contest page by Tuesday, July 30 at 12 PM ET. Show the world what your greyhound loves most to do — running in the backyard, playing on the beach, doing zoomies or just rooing with happiness on his fluffy bed.
![]() The winner will receive a 2” multi-media greyhound pendant on a stainless steel box chain. Truly a work of art, this special piece features a yellow heart and colorful flowers on a blue painted dog. (Bonus: the set can be converted for use as a key ring or bag tag with the included accessories). We will be posting the top videos on Facebook on August 1 and the one with the most likes by Monday August 5 at 12 PM ET will be declared the winner.
Thank you to everyone who responds to our action alerts throughout the year, promotes greyhound adoption and supports the worldwide campaign to end dog racing. We would also like to thank Fido Friendly Magazine for interviewing our president, Christine Dorchak and featuring Brooklyn, rescued from the Canidrome, in its new, summer edition.
Don't forget to send in your favorite greyhound video today!
