Ask for Removal of Rogue Dog Race Regulator

Dear Friends,

Today, I sent a letter to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer asking that she remove Racing Commissioner Rory Goree from office. Now, I need your help. For years, Mr. Goree has spread false accusations regarding GREY2K USA and our work to help greyhounds. Over the last few months, however, he has crossed the line. His recent public comments include:

  • On June 30, he made a sexual remark regarding GREY2K USA Board President and General Counsel Christine Dorchak.

  • He has repeatedly mocked Christine over a near-fatal accident she suffered in 1992 when she was struck by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Rail Car while walking her dog. For example on June 6 he referred to her as "the Trolley wreck."

  • On July 15 he suggested a proposed bill to make it nearly impossible for citizen groups to submit public information requests. This would decrease government transparency and is at odds with the Administration of Governor Jan Brewer.

  • On July 13 he suggested that anonymous tips of greyhound cruelty should not be reported to the authorities.

Based on this pattern of demeaning public comments, it's clear that Mr. Goree is not fit for public office.

Please read today's Arizona Republic story and then join me today in asking Governor to remove this rogue commissioner. First, call Governor Brewer at 602-542-4331 (then press 4). Then, also send her a polite e-mail asking that Mr. Goree be removed. Finally, please sign and share our petition going to Governor Brewer.

The greyhounds deserve regulators who are fair and impartial. Together, we can help give them a voice in this area.

Sincerely,

Carey
