Dear Friends,

We are writing to you from a giant bus, traveling the state of Florida to spread the word that dog racing must end. The Greyhound Friendship bus features our greyhound Gina and asks Florida citizens to Vote Yes on Amendment 13!

The Greyhound Friendship bus is leaving now for a big press conference with Senator Dana Young at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to release our first TV ad. GREY2K USA Worldwide is honored to sponsor Amendment 13 along with the Doris Day Animal League and The Humane Society of the United States. Stay tuned for more details and please make a donation to keep these efforts going from now until election day. 

We crisscrossed the state and visited with voters on college campuses, at humane societies, malls and food festivals. Our team has walked in parades, leafletted outside a Miami Heat game and several concerts including a celebration of Prince, tabled at Pumpkin Palooza and stopped by Lush stores to see their wonderful anti-racing displays. We have participated in debates, met with editorial boards and our campaign field director, Carla Wilson, has appeared in TV interviews across the state!

Our growing coalition includes 400 endorsements from celebrities like Rainn Wilson of The Office, Kristin Bauer of True Blood, news outlets, candidates for Congress, a local church, civic groups, local animal shelters, veterinarians and veterinary clinics, animal welfare organizations, business owners, attorneys, current and former state lawmakers, greyhound adoption groups and two celebrity cats!

The greyhounds need us all right now. With your help, thousands of greyhounds will get the second chance they deserve and eleven dog tracks will soon close in Florida.

The Miami track closed in June and several other dog tracks will have had their last races before the election. Then, we will have 26 months to absorb the dogs from the remaining facilities into good homes. Right now, according to state records, a greyhound dies every three days at a Florida racetrack. Please support this timely and humane effort to stop the cycle of breeding and killing that has haunted Florida greyhounds for nearly a century.
