Greyhound Injuries Hit Record High at Hinsdale Greyhound Park
Friends, This morning, the Brattleboro Reformer reported that greyhound injuries at Hinsdale Greyhound Park have increased dramatically, nearly tripling the number of injuries from last year. During the first four months of this year, 141 dogs were injured at the track, including dogs that suffered multiple broken bones and fractures so severe there were "bones protruding from skin." So far, eight dogs have been euthanized due to serious injury. defeated a bill earlier this year that would have phased out dog racing by 2009. These new injuries must serve as a reminder to everyone who cares about greyhounds that we cannot stop fighting until this cruelty ends. Please take the time today to send a polite e-mail to Governor John Lynch. Tell him that you are concerned about the high injury rate at Hinsdale Greyhound Park, and are looking forward to the day when dog racing ends in New Hampshire. If you have an adopted greyhound yourself, consider sending Governor Lynch a handwritten letter with a photo of your greyhound. Together, we can end this cruelty.
For the dogs,
