Greyhound Protection Update - June 23, 2008 |
Dog Racing Revenues Down, Tracks Closing!
Friends: The greyhounds are winning! A few weeks ago, the National Greyhound Association (NGA) sent an urgent appeal to its members for money to keep dog racing afloat. With revenues falling precipitously and tracks from Oregon to Florida to Connecticut closing, dog racing proponents now admit that their “game” has become “ less and significant and appealing” and is on the verge of collapse.Meanwhile, over 2,000 volunteers have successfully collected enough signatures to qualify the Greyhound Protection Act for the November election. The Greyhound Protection Act will phase out greyhound racing at Wonderland and Raynham Parks by 2010. Please support our continuing efforts to end dog racing. Every day we are one step closer to bringing an end to this cruelty nationwide! Buy a Campaign T-Shirt to Support an End to Dog Racing!
For the dogs,
