Rhode Island's only dog track, Lincoln Park, is closed and greyhound racing is illegal in the state.
Under the weight of $10 million in annual subsidy payments to greyhound breeders, Lincoln Park suspended live racing on August 8, 2009.1 Working with GREY2K USA and RI Defenders of Animals, the track then supported HB 8070, a bill to prohibit the activity altogether.
